2009 Topps Unique Baseball is a hobby release with a 200-card base set at 6 base cards per pack. Each box is configured for 1 autograph, 1 relic card, 1 patch or jumbo relic card and 10 insert cards.

The 200-card base set includes 50 Rookies and 14 Veterans, and its 800 parallel variations come in Unique (one of one), Reserve (numbered to 25), Select (numbered to 99) and numbered Premier versions. Insert sets, at 10 cards per box, include Unique Unis, Unparallelled Performances and Alone at the Top, with their own Unique, Reserve and Select parallels.

Memorabilia runs deep: Primetime Patches numbered to 99 or less, Jumbo Relics numbered to 40 or less, and Solo Shot, Dual Distinction and Triple Threat relics numbered to 275, 99 and 25. Autographs come as Solo Shot, Dual Distinction (to 25) and Triple Threat (to 10) cards, with autograph relic versions numbered as low as 5 and Jumbo Autograph Relics numbered to 15. The checklist also lists Bat Barrel cards and Bat Knob, MLB Logoman, Majestic and Russell Tag, and Button autograph cards.
